Another `Cerita Seram'

As an extension to the earlier post, here is another eerie story. And this incident is quite recent.

My 26 year-old niece (my sister-in-law's youngest daughter) is pursuing further studies in Kuala Lumpur. One weekend, about a few weeks ago, she returns to her hometown in Mersing to visit her parents.

She sleeps on the double bed in the spare bedroom. In the middle of the night, she wakes up to go to the bathroom. In the dim light, she sees her mother sleeping on the bed next to her. Her mother must have laid on the bed after she had fallen asleep.

She softly calls to her mother, "Mak...?".

Without turning, the mother replies, "Hmmm..."

My niece gets up and goes to the bathroom. On the way back, she sees the light of the television still on in the living room. She walks to the living room to switch off the TV. To her surprise, she sees her mother asleep on the sofa.

If her mother is sleeping on the sofa in the living room, then who is sleeping with her in the bedroom?

Daughter wakes up mother and tells her of what she has seen. Both mother and daughter quietly walks to the bedroom and switch on the lights. The room is empty. Whoever or whatever that was sleeping on the bed is no longer there.

Mother takes her holy Al-Quran and recites some verses. Outside, the sound of barking dogs fill the night air...

This is not the first time my niece has seen things that other ordinary people could not see. So far, alhamdulillah, there has been no physical harm on the family.

I sometimes wonder why is it that some people have the ability to see things that are normally unseen. Or do these other beings make themselves visible only to certain persons.

If you do know why, then you need not tell me.... because I actually don't really want to know. I'm happy to leave it as a mystery.

Salam 2u Olstock.
Some people might think stories like this one are nonsense.
But as a believer of the unseen (God), I also believe He creates both visible and invisible creatures to occupy this universe.

We normally fear the unknown. Once we've learn the hakikat of these mysterious creatures, and embraced the fact that they are also God's creatures, with vulnerabilities and subjected to His laws, the less fear we'll feel. What's more, there are certain verses in Quran that can shoo these mysterious entities away, as cited in some hadiths.

Whenever I drive alone at night especially, or wake up at wee hours, sometimes fear creeps in, especially so when unfathomable, inexplicable things happen.....apa lagi, kumat-kamit le baca Ayat Kursy, and apa2 lagi lah yg teringat.

Semoga kita dilindungi Allah dari kejahatan makhluk...just like the doa in Surah alFalaq.

Hello Oldstock,

Thank you for dropping by at my blog.

Glad that my entry evoked some memories of you and your mum...Yes! Those were the days...Very sweet indeed!

Wonder whether children of current generation will hav anymore of these things to remember...

You like ghost stories? Maybe you should sharpen your writing skills. Who knows you migh turn out to be like Tunku Halim (Stephen King of Malaysia). His blog - Writelah!

So, you are n J.B... Just came back last night from there. Conducted a whole day creative writing workshop there, at Masjid Ainuddin Wahid, Taman Universiti, Skudai.

Wasalam..

The jins are very clever with their antics and always there so envious and finding ways to trick us, the human.

My youngest son has that ability too. Seen the unseen.

Salam Oldstock,
Some people tells me it is a gift to be able to see but to me, it is not. I rather be without it. Like you, I rather not know.

Hello Ja,

Hoping that you feel refreshed after that holiday trip to NZ. I've read that it's a beautiful country.

It's good that your helper has the skill to ask these beings to go away. Hopefully, you and yours are always at peace.

Lama dah tak nampak you drop by. I ada baca your posts cuma tak tinggalkan komen je.

Salam Chahya,

What you have written is true. These unseen beings are God's creations too.

I pun doa agar you have Allah's protection in the times of loneliness.

So, bila nak sambung posting kat Chahya's de Light?

Hello Umi Kalthum,

Selamat datang ke blog saya ini.

Err... I like ghost stories but to the extent of reading them only. I don't think I can write horror very well.

Yes, I've read Tunku Halim. I have two of his books and I've also bookmarked his blog.

Please let me know if you do have any more creative writing workshops at UTM Johor. I would love to attend the next one.

Salam Dr. Sam,

Hope you are feeling refreshed from the holiday break.

Your son has told you stories about seeing the unseen? Perhaps we can read about it in your blog soon.

Thanks for dropping by.

Salam Fauziah,

I take it you have not encountered any of such beings yourself, huh? Tak payah tahu pun takpe, kan?

So how's the general feeling of the UMNO crowd at this year's perhimpunan? Any of them feeling sad that Pak Lah is leaving (or forced to leave) ?

Salam somuffins,

If your son has the ability to see the normally unseen, then it may be good for you to give him the necessary support. Or at least, don't discourage him.

Hopefully, he will be brave enough to hold on and maybe nurture this skill.

Thanks for hopping over. Will visit yours soon.

Salam Oldstock
On the contrary, I can and had seen (on several occasions) ... not a pretty sight too!
Anyway, no tears were shed, no emotional farewell for Pak Lah.
Somehow, I think he felt relief giving it all up.

Emila,

Happened to you mother a few times? Wow... scary!

Hope that she has not been harmed in any way.

Verse,

Cerita I ni takleh lawan keseraman filem Ju Onn. Rasanya dah cukup la cerita seram buat masa ini.

Kalau ada perkembangan dari anak sedara I, nanti I tulis lagi :-)

Salam Fauziah,

Err... you pernah ternampak ke? Wow, seram ni...

About Pak Lah tu, it seems to me that the focus was more on Najib taking over and the new Supreme Council line-up... to the extent that Pak Lah's departure becoming secondary. Sad but he had his chance.
