Dinner in Kuantan

Just a brief update on our east coast trip. We are in Kuantan since Friday and plan to drive up to Kuala Trengganu later this afternoon.

It has been seafood dinners for the past two evenings. The first was at Restoran Timur that I got to know of through a Facebook contact. Last night we had dinner at the popular New Horizon Garden Restaurant that I first read in mamasita's blog.

The following are some pics. Full story after we get back...

Oldstock and his 2nd son at Restoran Timur

We had steamed fish, squids in dried chilli and butter prawns

Enjoy the seafoods as you won't get the fresh sea produces as fresh as that here in KL.

Enjoy the holiday too!

I love going to Kuantan and its seafood. Mengancam betul gambar all the seafood. Meleleh air liur tengok...

Dr Sam,

Yes, it is very worthwhile having seafood dinner or lunch because of the freshness. And it is less expensive too when compared to JB.

FYI, I did make a stop at Pantai Pandak on our back but didn't have time to explore because of time constraints. Maybe next time.

mamasita,

We took the package of 6 dishes for 8 to 10 pax. But I had to order additional dishes because my sons and nephew are voracious eaters. The food was delicious and we wiped the plates clean. Next time we'll try the steamboat package.

Tak sempat nak call you because we were in Kuantan for only two days. Lagipun I know you were quite busy too. Insyallah we'll get to meet at a convenient time in future. Anyways, thanks for the tip about New Horizon Garden. We managed to sneak in early and get a table. Kalau lambat sikit memang full house.

Hliza,

Masa tengah jalan-jalan tu memang best. Bila dah balik, letih giler. Tapi setahun sekali, kira takpe la tu...

Lili,

Generally all the dishes served were tasty. Memang tak segan kalau nak rekomen kat kawan2.

Andrea,

I've been to AEON Setiawangsa two or three times. The first time was to eat donuts at Big Apple because my friends got a franchise to run that outlet. The second time I ate at Splendid, but taste was so-so. If Madam Lim's is halal, I'll try them the next time round.

Verse,

There's so many good eating places in Kuantan but alas, we only had two nights. Memang dah plan nak gi Mahkota Seafood kalau New Horizon Garden full house... tapi nasib baik dapat satu table before the crowds came.

We'll of course try Mahkota next time. You Kuantan folks are so lucky...

Hi Tommy,

We reached home late last night and I was flat-out tired. I think I need more RnR after this RnR :-)

Happy new year to you too. Cheers!
