Another sign of growing old

I prepare to go to work this morning. I start my car and waited a while for the engine to warm up. A call came in my mobile phone. I answered the call and spoke for a few minutes.

On completing the call, I put my car in gear and drove off. The engine felt heavy and sluggish. Laa... meragam lagi kereta aku ni. I just had the car serviced last week. Be prepared to spend more money, I thought.

I reach my workplace. I park the car and was about to pull the handbrake. Ooops! The handbrake is already in the up position. I have been driving with the handbrake on all this while. Aduh....

Oouch! An obvious sign that you "Just didn't Observe Enough!
Well, 90% of drivers did it!

I don't know if this'll make you feel any younger, but: I remember doing this when I was in my twenties, too!!!! I thought it was a 'girl' thing! Nice to know I have company ;)

Hee hee hee!

Pakmat, more and more signs are coming to the fore now. Might as well get used to it :-)

Hliza, you drove with the handbrake on that early huh? Hope it wasn't your dad's car... hehe..

Cik Som, don't worry.... as I am the oldstock, no one else is older than me :-)

Fadhil said...

Dr Sam, it would have been real drift driving if I had attempted a few sharp corners at high speed.... which I have actually attempted many, many years back...

Salam Saudagar,

90% of drivers have done it too? Cannot be lah!

BTW welcome to this blog. Since you are in the business of honey, perhaps you have read my earlier post on Madu Tiga...

Pat, only the girls in their twenties forget about the handbrake... not us guys at that age, muahaha! Nice to have you as company too :-)

Mamasita, I now need to have the car sent in for checks on the handbrake. I'm sure something must have been damaged by that long drive with the handbrake on..

Lupa lepas handbrake, orang muda pun pernah kena.
Mesti ada aroma getah hangit...

I once left a bag of shopping groceries on the roof of my car and drove off! lol!
U r not old, cuma absent minded je ;-)

As, saya masa muda dulu tak pernah ada kes lupa handbrake ni... tapi pernah tertinggal kunci tergantung pada boot kereta. Masa tu jenuh mencari mana saya letak kunci. Bila tak jumpa, saya guna kunci spare (zaman dulu belum ada kunci alaram remote lagi).

Saya drive kereta pegi bandar, lepas tu ada orang kat belakang asyik hon saya. Mula-mula tu saya ingat pasal apa kena hon ni... dah start nak meradang... rupanya dia nak bagitau ada kunci tergantung kat boot belakang... malu sendiri sekejap... heheh..

Nurie, you and I are very much alike la my friend :-)

Hah, me lg teruk.. i had this pinging sound coming from the car frantically telling me something was wrong (dashboard with blinking lights summore) and i just couldnt figure out wth was wrong until much much later - handbrakes lupa nak release.

Now tell me blur or what ekekeke ;p

Growing old.. tak guna lawan, hafta laugh at ourselves or go mad otherwise lol.
