Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

The original singer of this song, Bill Withers, released it in 1971. The song became a classic hit. Since then, a number of other singers have performed cover versions. A few months back, I discovered this youtube video of Joe Cocker singing the hit in his distinctively raspy style and I like it very much. I thought it appropriate to share at this present time... what with the weather being gloomy and rainy for the past few weeks.

"It's not warm when she's away...."

Yeah, you're right Joe. The missus has been away at the hospital for ten days now. The doctor says she may be discharged tomorrow if everything's okay.

Tak lah romantik mana sangat, mamasita. Cuma bila dia takde kat rumah, rasa tersangatlah kosong rumah itu...

Sometimes we take things for granted.. we do not appreciate what we have.. the nikmat and rahmat etcetera.. it is only when they are gone or taken away.. we felt their importance or miss them..
May we all be given the taufeek to appreciate and be thankful for everything.

Ayoh Wang,

It's very true, what you have said. We tend to be forgetful sometimes and do not appreciate what we have until we lose it. Thank you.

Noir, she is back home now and resting. Thanks.

I hope she's home soon, my friend. I know what you mean when you dedicate this song to her. I feel the very same way when I am away from my husband.

She's already home, Pat. Now resting and taking things easy. Maybe a few weeks more before she fully recovers, but her being at home makes tons of difference.

Mazny,

She's getting better. Give her a call.

Come down and spend the nite here if you want to visit US in Spore. I've never been there myself, but I heard your cousins sure had a wonderful time.
